SHAH ALAM - Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Gombak areas that have been experiencing water disruptions following the diesel pollution in Sungai Selangor have been fully recovered as of 6 am today.

However, Head of Client Relationship Department of Air Selangor Water Management Sdn Bhd, Abdul Raof Ahmad said that the rehabilitation process in the entire area that is undergoing water supply disruptions is still at 96 per cent.

"The recovery of water supply disruption in Klang / Shah Alam area reached 94 percent; Kuala Lumpur 99 percent; Petaling 96 per cent and Kuala Langat at 97 per cent," said Abdul Raof.

"We are constantly monitoring this process and are working to accelerate overall recovery in the affected area, which is aimed to fully recover at 9 am this Saturday," he said in a statement here today.

Abdul Raof said tank lorries are still being moved to affected areas and consumers at locations that had recovered from the supply disruption are advised to use water prudently.

He added that consumers can also get the latest information and status of water supply disruptions through the 'Air Selangor' application on smartphones or via www.syabas.com.my, Facebook 'Air Selangor' and Twitter @air_selangor.

On Sunday, diesel pollution in Sungai Selangor had resulted in the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 and the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant to cease from working and had caused water supply disruption to 1,191,942 customer accounts in the Kuala Lumpur region, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.
