SHAH ALAM - The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) managed to channel RM26,300,410 to 54,509 recipients of poor, poor and converty asnaf throughout Selangor.
According to a statement on the official Facebook page of LZS, the distribution is aimed at helping the people celebrate Ramadan and Aidilfitri celebration this year.
"Of that amount, RM7,029,560 was distributed to 14,714 people among the asnaf fakir, while RM17,737,360 to 38,940 poor asnaf and RM1,533,490 was distributed to 4,204 asnaf mualaf.
"Each recipient receives zakat between RM300 and RM1,000 depending on the amount of liability," the statement said.
At the same time, LZS expressed its gratitude to those who paid zakat on the Selangor Zakat Board.
