BATU CAVES - Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari apologizes for the fact that he has no opportunity to visit all mosques and surau that are in the Sungai Tua State Legislative Assembly during Ramadan.
During the Ihya Ramadan donation here on 5 May, Amirudin, who is also the Sungai Tua State Assemblyman, said it has been a routine for him to visit most mosques and suraus there during Ramadan.
"But now I can not promise, because when I get the post of Menteri Besar, I will also accompany the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah for his breaking fast with the people," explained Amirudin.
"Indeed every year I go to Surau An Nur Taman Jasa and also Surau Al-Abrar in Selayang, but this time I'm sorry if I can not fulfill the invitation," he said.
Amirudin said that although he never forgot the Sungai Sungai Tua, he wanted to see the development of the people after he became the Menteri Besar.
"Hence, there will be additional allocation for the Sungai Tua, I would like to see mosques and surau be transformed into a positive change of community and society," he said.
He said this when MBI's Sungai Nyua Ramadan Donation Programme was held at Surau Al Jannah Taman Jasa Utama, here on 5 May.
At the function, five mosques and 26 surau in Sungai Tua received about RM 360,000 from the Selangor Menteri Besar Inc (MBI) in conjunction with Ramadan.
Earlier, on 19 June 2018, Amirudin was sworn in as Chief Minister at Istana Alam Shah, Klang replacing Dato' Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali who was appointed Minister of Economic Affairs.
He is the 16th Selangor Menteri Besar as well as the Sungai Tua Selangor State Assemblyman.
