
SHAH ALAM - The State Government will extend aid to the family of a wounded Shah Alam resident in a recent terrorist shooting incident in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, said the victim, Mohd Nazri Hisham Omar, is currently being treated at a hospital there.
"We have received information from Wisma Putra stating that he is a Shah Alam citizen. Although his identification card states that he is Kelantanese, Mohd Nazri resides in Shah Alam and had voted in Kota Anggerik."
"Our brother, Mohd Nazri Hisham Omar was injured when the incident occurred and the State Government is considering helping to finance his family to visit him in New Zealand where he is being treated," he said.
Amirudin said this when delivering the closing address of the Selangor State Assembly Conference on 25 March.
Commenting on the stance of the Selangor State Assembly, Amirudin said that they had took the stand to condemn the incident.
He said that all parties should avoid extreme ideology in all matters because of their adverse impact on society.
