PETALING JAYA - The special project for the people of Semenyih will continue despite the Pakatan Harapan (PAKATAN) defeat at the Semenyih State Legislative Assembly by-election on March 2.
Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, said the special project relating to the construction houses is still underway and is waiting to be implemented based on the schedule that has been set.
"This announcement is not directly related to the Semenyih by-election, plans have long been made, if we lose, we will not punish Semenyih.
"This plan has been made in the frame of the State Budget before," he told the media.
He said this after officiating the seventh edition of the Malaysia Women's Marathon (MWM) 2019 in Padang Timur on March 3.
Earlier on Feb 27, Amirudin during the campaign on the Semenyih by-election announced that the State Government will announce a major project for the residents of Semenyih soon.
He said the announcement was a commitment by the State Government to the welfare of the people there.
But Amirudin did not make any announcements about it in order to keep the ethics of the election.
At the same time, the State Government is also considering to bring Smart Selangor free buses to Semenyih to ensure that the transportation system is more systematic and efficient.
