SHAH ALAM - A total of 8,836 Head of Households for low-income group B40, in Selangor are eligible to receive Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) rebates worth RM40 per month, to be implemented soon.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the implementation was based on the approval of the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) presented during the conference, last month.

"Electricians eligible to receive this rebate are poor candidates listed and certified in the eKasih system.

"The eligible recipients will receive a rebate of RM40 per month during 2019," he told a media conference after chairing the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) meeting at the MTES Room, at SUK building on Feb 28.

Also present were the ranks of the State Executive Councilor.

He said that of the total number of eligible households, 6,416 have yet to have a TNB account and is unlikely that they would have time to open or rent and use the property of others.

Meanwhile, 2,262 others said the additional receiver was based on data received this year.

"However, the State Government will try to help especially in the service center to help change the accounts so that they will have the opportunity to enjoy the rebate provided.

"For the list of the Head of Households data without electricity accounts, MESTECC will make coordination with the State Government through the office of the State Assemblyman," he said.
