Kampung Sungai Serai residents receives long awaited Notice 5A

SUNGAI BULOH - The nearly 30 year-old wait for 45 villagers of Kampung Sungai Serai ended when they received a landowner's offer letter (Notice 5A) submitted by Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari.

Present at Setia Kundang Square on Jan 23, he said it was the responsibility of the State Government to provide the best initiatives to facilitate the people to own their assets and hopefully they would not be sold for a bit of profit.

"This is proof that the State Government is continuously working to help the Selangorians acquire land titles in line with the concept of 'Economic Growth, Empowers the People and State of Excellence' which I discussed during the presentation of the State Budget 2019.

"It is the main agenda of the State Government to help and defend the people to acquire land for long term occupants but have no property holdings," he said.

Amirudin said the purchasing effort would continue but will take some time as it involves fieldwork as well as revising the list as there are already old applicants who have passed away, where the right to the land will be given to its next-of-kin.

He said that this grant will facilitate the recipient to plan for the future, what with a nominal premiums of only RM1,000 provided it can not be sold to other parties.

Also present were Selayang Member of Parliament, William Leong, State Assemblyman (ADN) Kuang, Salehuddin Amirudin, ADN Rawang, Chua Wei Kiay and Gombak District Officer, Dato 'Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim.

At the same event, Amirudin also handed donations to lightning victims and Jom Shopping in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
