KUALA LUMPUR: PKR have been fighting with each other for 20 years but continues to remain solid as a rock, regardless of the outcome.

Although admitting to differences in opinion within the party, PKR Parliamentary whip chief Johari Abdul stressed that they are nothing like Barisan Nasional.

"We have been there for 20 years, we have been fighting each other for 20 years. Nothing happened. We are not like some other party who after they fight they broke up. I'm referring to BN."

"Not with PKR, we have been fighting for years and we are ok. No matter the outcome we are solid as a rock," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

The Sungai Petani MP however denied that his party is going through a crisis between different 'camps' as they head for the party poll.

"PKR constitution allows us to choose the best (leader). We are totally different from other parties," said Johari.

PKR will be holding its party polls at the end of August this year.

Current defacto leader Anwar Ibrahim in a statement had said that he will contest for the post of president.

Other incumbent leaders including President Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Deputy President Mohamed Azmin Ali to this date continues to keep mum on whether they will be contesting or otherwise.
