SHAH ALAM, OCT 4: The State Government has allocated more than RM110 million on physical development of flats in Selangor since 2012.

The Selangor Housing and Property Board Executive Director, Norzaton Aini said it include RM88.9 million given through the Caring Government For Residents Improvement Aid - Ceria Scheme with 248 projects.

She said, a total of RM30 million have also been allocated for the Smart Lift Improvement for Quality Life Programme, this year.

“Through this Smart Lift programme, we have approved budget to upgrade 112 elevators in 24 flats.

“Additionally, we have also paid competent firms for a comprehensive elevator maintenance of 88 elevators in 21 flats,” she said.

The Ceria Scheme is a cost-sharing scheme between low-cost flat dwellers and the State Government to improvise and maintain the environment around the flats.

Through Ceria, the State Government funds 80% of the cost and the rest is borne by residents.

It is aimed to give a sense of belonging to each resident to maintain and care for common properties in the long run.

Smart Lift was introduced to provide a good quality lift service for low-cost flats.
