SHAH ALAM, OCT 3: The 2018 Selangor Budget emphasizes on enhancing youths’ economic quality to ensure it achieves the state’s development agenda.
Youth, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development Exco, Amirudin Shari said the priority is important to enhance the quality of life for youths to be more competitive and able to meet market requirement.
“This relates to the high unemployment level which has driven the State Government to be committed in addressing this issue,” he said to reporter
He said, if a new initiative is implemented, youths in the country will enjoy a long-term benefit.
“I believe there will be new initiatives and if it can be better utilized, we can definitely propel the social development of younger generation to meet the present workforce,” he said.
Youth development policy consists of 10 main cores including entrepreneurship and employment, leadership and organisation, information technology and organisation.
It also covers aspects of community, volunteerism network, culture and arts, welfare and health, sports and fitness as well as religions and faiths.
Amiruddin said, the effort to realise those needs are implemented through the Local Youth Drivers formed to produce leaders who are competitive to become the agents of change to youth in Selangor.
