SHAH ALAM, SEP 26: The public is asked not to immediately believe any scheme offering cheap houses to avoid being scammed to the extent of thousands of ringgit.
Housing, Building Management and Urban Settlement Exco, Dato’ Iskandar Abdul Samad said he doesn’t deny that there are companies taking advantage to earn easy profit by cheating people who dream of owning houses.
“We are worried when there are parties offering cheap houses but in fact the houses are non-existent, cannot be completed, low quality or there are cases where the land status cannot be delineated and they finally only acquired the main grant and not individual grants.
“It is strange to see companies offering very low housing when there are big self-financing developers having to rely on other projects to complete their affordable-home project.

“If there are companies claiming they can sell houses at very cheap prices, we need to check thoroughly as there may be some particular reason the houses are offered that cheap,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.
He said, buyers’ attitude of trying to gain by purchasing cheap houses without checking in advance can impose high risk of loss reaching up to thousands of ringgit.
He added that people should instead take the opportunity through the Rumah Selangorku housing scheme offered by the State Government which is far more secured than the offers from companies claiming to offer low-priced housing.
He said further that the State Government also offers various schemes, such as the Selangor Smart Home Buyers and other schemes, to facilitate the public to own houses.
