SHAH ALAM, SEP 22: In conjunction with Maal Hijrah 1439H celebration, Muslims are urged to go deep into the meaning and appreciate the wisdom in Prophet Muhammad SAW’s migration and fight over 1,4000 years ago in upholding the Islamic tenets.
State Government Secretary, Dato’ Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya said, the union between the Muhajirin and Ansar tribes successfully formed a strength so great, forming an Islamic country which had brought the Islamic religion to another level.
“As Muslims, we should take the lessons from this story to reflect on ourlselves and reassess our practices in life.
“Hopefully we can also ‘migrate’ towards goodness, faith and piety to Allah SWT. And also strengthen our love for the prophet Muhammad SAW,” he said.
He said that in his speech at the Selangor’s Program Ambang Hijrah and Majlis Sambutan Maal Hijrah 1439H at the Dewan Solat Bawah, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, yesterday.

He said Muslims today must put aside their tribalistic sentiments, differences in school of thoughts and malice towards each other to form a tie so close that other believers could look up to as an example.
The theme for this year’s Maal Hijrah celebration is ‘Umat Bersatu Negeri Sejahtera’.
Also present were His Royal Highness the Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah who represented His Royal Highness, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah; Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi; Dato’ Seri Utama Diraja The Mufti of Selangor, Dato’ Setia Mohd Tamyes Abd Wahid and Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Director, Dato’ Haris Kasim.
In conjunction with Maal Hijrah celebration, Tengku Amir Shah presented five Maal Hijrah 1439H Awards.
The Anugerah Khas Maal Hijrah 1439H award went to Dr Osman Sabran, while the Anugerah Badan Dakwah Sukarela award was given to Malaysian Muslimah Sisterhood Association (SALIMAH).

Celebrity and actor, Adam Corrie Lee Abdullah, was chosen as recipient of the Anugerah Tokoh Saudara Kita for Maal Hijrah 1439H.
Anugerah Aktivis Masyarakat award was given to Mahat Tumin and Mokter Murat was chosen to receive the Anugerah Tokoh Keluarga Mithali award.
In the same ceremony, 16 students were selected to receive the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Pendidikan Tengku Idris Shah award.
In conjunction with Maal Hijrah 1439H, the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque had also recited the year-end and start prayers, led by Imam Besar, Muhammad Farhan Wijaya.
