SHAH ALAM, SEPT 20: The Halal Technical Competent Person (HTCP) programme launched by Halal International Selangor (HIS) proves a serious commitment by the State Government to enhance human capital development to participate in the industry and Halalan Toyyiban International Trade.

Chief Executive Officer of Central Spectrum Sdn Bhd (CSSB), Mahmud Abbas said that it could be proven through two months of programme to participants to provide understanding and knowledge and skills.

He said participants were exposed through the Shariah, System and Halal Management with Standard and International Halal Trade Standards.

"A total of 13 participants attended the two month programme. This participant undergoes a comprehensive learning session.

"They also share experiences that give participants exposure to Halal industry requirements that enable them to practice and maintain the Halal Toyyiban guarantees in an organisation," he said at the HTCP Certificate Presentation Ceremony, at Hotel Saujana.

Mahmud, who is also a Board Member of HIS, said through the development of the Selangor Halal Hub, the officer was responsible for monitoring halal related products or services.

"Through this HTCP training, the officers are responsible for ensuring the quality of Halal. The HTCP employees are also referred to as the 'Single Community Global Markets'," he said.

He said besidesthat, Halal Trade Delivery Assurance (HTDA) is also another component of HIS as a halal service centre that coordinates the accreditation programme and halal guarantee process.

"It also performs performance ratings and rating systems for products, service integrity, reliability, safety and quality," he said.

At the same time, Mahmud said recently the State Government provided a commitment and support to small and medium enterprises (SME) for the development of human capital under the HTCP and HTDA programmes

He said the initiative is expected to provide SME with opportunities to tap into the broader local and global Halal market.

"Access to global networks is HIS key step towards providing business consultancy and human resource development.

"This includes establishing collaboration between foreign countries in developing halal and Muslim friendly tourism industry by applying the aspects of trust, integrity, security and global halal trade assurance," he said.

HIS is a subsidiary of Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd which is the Global Toyyiban Global Trade and Industry platform to develop 10 major programmes namely Property, Delivery Guarantee, Distribution Chain, Market Development, Capacity Building, Industrial Development, Human Resource Development, Licenses and Royalties, Funds & Finance and Lifestyle.
