KUALA LUMPUR, SEP 14: The State Government is willing to facilitate the burial of victims involved in the fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz Centre, at Jalan Keramat Hujung early this morning.
Dato 'Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the matter was decided in a brief discussion with Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Datuk Dusuki; Director of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) and representatives of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP).
“We are prepared to assist by providing hearse to transport the 24 bodies back to their respective hometowns.
“Besides that, we are also prepared to extend other assistance including a team to provide counselling to the families, as I was informed, this fire incident is the biggest in terms of casualties,” he said to reporters today.
At the same time, Mohamed Azmin said the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and JAWI will cooperate to ensure all burial processes are conducted smoothly.
He also expressed his condolence to victims’ families on the misfortune that has happened.
"We also full of sadness and sorrow over this disaster and pray that the soul of the victims will receive mercy and be placed in heaven full of the blessings from Allah SWT.
"I also pray that the victims’ families be given strength and perseverence in going through this test and the provisions of Allah," he said.
