SHAH ALAM, SEP 12: Selangor welcomes local and foreign tourists to get the real experience of eco-tourism in the state.
Tourism Selangor’s General Manager, Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din said, the tropical climate a factor that can attract tourists to explore the beauty of Selangor.
“If you are planning a holiday and wish to buy expensive tickets to farawar destinations, wait, because Selangor’s tropical climate will change your views.
“Selangor is full of natural wonders and can make tough for nature-lovers to decide on their next outdoor adventure,” she said.
She said, the beauty of the state’s flora and fauna is now becoming popular and often becomes the preferred eco-tourism destination.
“It’s eco-system and nature are among the main tourism attraction in Selangor as its hills and mountains display different personalities.
“Among them are the FRIM, Shah Alam National Botanical Garden, Hulu Selangor and Hulu Langat which are popular for their natural beauty besides their rich flora and fauna,” he said.
Last year, Selangor featured the Discover Selangor campaign with the tagline ‘Heart of Malaysia’ as part of the efforts to promote Selangor globally.
The campaign focuses on Selangor’s strength in lifestyle spot, business opportunities, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) service sector, sports and health.
The campaign’s effectiveness had brought in 1.5% more local and foreign tourists into Selangor which is approximately 4.3 million tourists, from January to September last year.
That number against the same period in 2015 had exceeded the target of 7.1 million tourists.
