Shah Alam, Sep 7: The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (MAPIM) has launched a campaign to collect 1,000 signatures to demand for Myanmar’s Councilor, Aung San Suu Kyi’s Nobel Peace prize be withdrawn.
That action is taken following her denial of the ethnic cleansing and genocide on the Rohingya ethnic since Burma gained independence in 1948, reflecting that she conspires and supports the Myanmar military and Buddhist extremists’ oppression on the race.
MAPIM President, Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid said, they feel that Syu Kyi has betrayed the meaning behind the Nobel Peace Prize and she no longer deserves it.

Therefore, the award she received in 1991 should be revoked immediately, he said.
“MAPIM urges all party especially among Malaysian community leaders to have the sense of humanity and together support the petition that will be sent to Nobel Peace Committee in Sweden to revoke her award.
“We are targeting to get 1,000 signatures from Members of Parliament, Assemblymen, community leaders, religious leaders, professionals and scholars, by end of this October,” he said.
Mohd Azmi said, Suu Kyi’s statement shows that she admits that using the name Rohingya is rejected in Myanmar and she is more comfortable with the demands of Myanmar junta to call them ‘Bangeli” instead, which is totally cannot be accepted and protested by the Rohingya ethnic.

He said, Suu Kyi does not feel any guilt when the Rohinya women and children are treated with cruelty.
“In fact, she bows to the Buddhist extremist led by Ashin Wirathu, who legalise the killing, expulsion, denial of human rights and confiscation of Rohingya’s properties.
“She also acknowledged that every Buddhist should protect Myanmar's religious and national interests, which she claimed to belong only to Buddhist, by carrying out ethnic cleansing and genocide which are in violation of international law and human rights.
“Hence, any humanitarian rights for the Rohingya ethnic guaranteed by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights including the right to life, the right of law, the right to religion, cultural and political rights are now denied by her without any sense of humanity,” he said.
