MB congratulates new IGP

SHAH ALAM, SEP 4: Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali congratulated Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun on his appointment as the 11th Inspector-General of Police (IGP) today.

Through his Twitter account, Mohamed Azmin also expressed hope that the police institution in this country will be strengthened.

“Congratulations to Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun on his appointment as the 11th IGP.

“Hopefully the credibility and integrity of the police institution will be strengthened,” he wrote.

Mohamad Fuzi Harun is appointed as IGP replacing Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

Mohamad Fuzi holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) from University of Malaya and Masters Degree in Anthropology and Sociology from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and he has also held several positions in PDRM.

Among them were Head of Criminal Investigations Department at the Ipoh and Taiping District Police Headquarters and Special Operations Team Director (Operations/ Counter-terrorism) for Bukit Aman.

He was the Deputy IGP for several months in 2014 when Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Zinin, the incumbent, went on compulsory retirement.
