SHAH ALAM, SEP 1: Etiqa Takaful Bhd has appointed Zafri Ab Halim as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective today.
Etiqa said in a statement that Zafri will report directly to Maybank Ageas Holding Bhd CEO, Kamaludin Ahmad and is responsible to drive and monitor Etiqa Takaful’s achievement in Malaysia.
“Zafri is eligible to lead Etiqa Takaful in this very important period. Most of his career has been in the insurance industry.
"He has worked with Malaysia National Insurance Bhd, now known as Etiqa Insurance Bhd, for 14 years when he started his career, and therefore he knows the intricacies of the company," Kamaludin said, BERNAMA reported.
Zafri, who served as CEO of Great Eastern Takaful Bhd, later joined Etiqa.
Prior to that, he led the financial and corporate services division covering financial accounting, information systems management investment and the general administration of Algeria Bank, Saudi Arabia.
