BUKIT JELUTONG, SEP 1: His Royal Highness the Selangor Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah with His Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Norashikin performed the Aidiladha prayers at the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque.
They were also accompanied by His Royal Highness the Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah and were greeted by State Government leaders led by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and wife, Datin Seri Shamshida Taharin as well as Dato’ Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri, Dato’ Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya.
The prayer attended by 5,000 congregations were led by imam Dato’ Seri Utama Diraja Mufti Selangor, Dato’ Setia Mohd Tamyes Abd Wahid who also delivered a the ‘khutbah’ (sermon) entitled The Meaning of Sacrifice.
Among the content was the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS and Prophet Ismail AS who sacrificed in obedience to Allah SWT.
Upon finishing the prayer and khutbah, the congregation also took the opportunity to shake hands with the Sultan and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor.
The Sultan and Tengku Amir Shah also watched the slaughtering process and through the Deputy Mufti Selangor, Sahibus Samahah Dr Anhar Opir , had also contributed a cow. After a meal ceremony, the meat was distributed to the people as required by the ‘korban’ ritual.
The Mosque had also received 26 more cows which will be sacrificed tomorrow.
