Five Malaysian universities ranked among best 300 in the world

SHAH ALAM, JUNE 8: Five Malaysian research universities have been listed among 300 best in the world.

They are, Universiti Malaya (UM); Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM); Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM); Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

The achievement has ultimately placed those universities in a best one percent from 26,000 universities in the world.

UM is now ranked at 114 best university in the world, up by 19 place compared to 133 last year which was in the group of the best 100 in the world.

Meanwhile, UPM is ranked as 229^th best in the world, UKM is at 230^th compared to last year at 302^nd, an increase of 72 steps. UTM is ranked 253^rd and USM is at 264^th.
