KUALA LUMPUR, MAY 25: The country’s largest refined sugar producer, MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd respects the government’s decision to maintain the refined sugar price.
The market leader with a 60 percent market share said, sugar is gazetted under the 2011 Price Control and Anti-profiteering Act (Maximum Price Setting – No.2, 2017 Regulations).
“The public should be assured that MSM will provide sufficient supply of sugar for the country especially ahead of the coming Aidifitri celebration,” he said in a statement.
The company said although there are gradual decrease in global raw sugar price, but the global sugar commodity operates in a difficult and uncertain market condition.
“We continuously discuss with the government and keep them informed on the latest development in the global sugar market and we hope to achieve positive result,” said MSM.
MSM is Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd’s subsidiary and its main product, Gula Prai is the premium brand for sugar in Malaysia.
