SHAH ALAM, MAY 15: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is given one month to finalise its investigation on the cash flow from SRC International.

Attorney-General (AG), Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali said he is certain the investigations on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) subsidiary can be completed earlier than that.”

“I have asked MACC earlier and it should be completed within one month.

“I can say it may be completed earlier.

“Any further developments will be informed later,” he said as quoted by Astro Awani.

He reportedly said that to the media after officiating the 17th ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting Opening (ASLOM) in Putrajaya today.

Mohamad Apandi said he has never instructed to stop investigating the issue.

On January 26, 2016, Apandi allegedly said in a media conference that there will be no charges against the Prime Minister based on the investigation on the RM2.6 billion donation and RM42 million fund from SRC International.

“When I said no more investigation (in the media session on January 2016), it was relating to the RM2.6 billion which went into the Prime Minister’s personal account.

“When we declare as NFA (no further action), it means we put it aside but if there are new evidence, warrant will be issued to reopen the file and reinvestigate.

“There are no files that are permanently closed when we say NFA, including the 1MDB file,” he said as quoted by Malaysian Insight.
