LHDN hunts 30 companies who failed to pay RM2.2 billion tax

SHAH ALAM, APR 13: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) is actively auditing and investigating 30 big companies relating to their almost RM2.2 billion loss of revenue due to penalty and tax evasion.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Sabin Samitah said, 10 of the companies have received tax arrears notices and have paid RM800 million in total for tax and penalty evasion.

He said, for the remaining 20 companies involving revenue loss of RM1.4 billion, the matter will be finalised by this month.

“If they don’t pay, we will bring the case to court and (only after that) then we can reveal their manes,” he said as reported by BERNAMA.

He said, the government-link and public-listed companies will get tax arrears notices payable within one year from date of issue.
