SHAH ALAM, APR 13: Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) has identified a new location for Knowledge Garden Learning Centre School (KGLCS), a school for Rohingya children.

MPSJ Yang Dipertua, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan said the proposed new school will utilise a 12,000 square feet shoplot in Serdang Jaya.

“Together with the Land and Mines Office, we identified a 12,000 sqft commercial lot for the Rohingya School where the 37 pupils can learn and they can even start immediately.

“We will now have a meeting to discuss this with the relevant parties and we shall wait for the State Government’s instruction for next step. We only propose a suitable location,” said Nor Hisham.

He said that to the media at the Joint-Sponsorship with Synergy Partners Presentation Ceremony for Jom Konvoi Kembara Amal MPSJ 2017 Programme at the MPSJ Main Lobby yesterday.

He added that the new school is not very far from the old school which was developed illegally on a former mine land, owned by State Government.

He said besides the old school being illegally built, several questions came up particularly relating to safety of the premise believed to be non-compliant with the standard operating procedures (SOP).
