SHAH ALAM, MAR 30, The State Government through Hijrah Selangor is making ongoing efforts to ensure the basic food being distributed is in good condition and of good quality.

Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi said she has received feedback from every Community Service Centre (PKM) concerning the quality of food being supplied and is making improvements on every issue raised.

“Besides that, we also visit and conduct inspection at every PKM to ensure the quality of food received is in good condition,” she said answering an oral question posed by Meru Assemblyman, Dr Abdul Rani Osman in the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) today.

At the same time, Daroyah said the State Government has no plan to replace the form of aid given, from goods into vouchers, as it is Dato’ Menteri Besar’s intention to provide help in the form of basic food to 100 poorest families in each Constituency.

Prior to that, it was made to understand that 5,600 poorest families in Selangor received the Smart Selangor Food Stamp basic food aid, in which the State Government had allocated RM3 millions of budget.

She said, recipients would receive aid in the form of basic necessary food such as 10 kilogrammes of rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour and others.
