SHAH ALAM, MAR 27: Selangor Music Festival that will be held at Encorp The Strand Mall on April 1 and 2 not only ensemble popular artists, it will also be a platform for young people to show their talent to the public.
Community Service Centre Coordinator for Kota Damansara State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Radzlan Jalaluddin said the programme is organised following State Government’s intent to turn Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam as city of arts.
“This is the first and biggest programme that puts together all the musical activities in Selangor. We have performances relating to music be it performances from artists as well as from the community through competition such as Battle Of The Buskers, drummers, guitarists and others.
“We have these competitions because we want participation from the local youth and community. We don’t want them to just come to watch the artists’ performances and go home,” he said to SelangorKini today.
He said such competition can also provide the opportunity for youth to generate income through their musical talents.
Among the artists who will performing in the programme jointly organised by the State Government and Community Service Centre Kota Damansara DUN are Bunkface group, Kaka Azraff, Gerhana Ska Cinta, Andy Flop Poppy, I AmNeeta, Amir Jahari Project, Shiha Zikir, Mad Rizal dan Ewal.
