Illegal premises, MPSepang offers business license

SEPANG, MAR 22: Businessmen who fail to produce their business operating licenses are advised to apply for new licence from the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) before end of April.

MPSepang Yang DiPertua, Dato’ Puasa Md Taib said, in that period, the Council shall give leniency to the traders to acquire the approval and conduct their businesses legally.

“I am giving the traders time until end of April for those without license to apply for it and continue their operations.

“The Council will not hesitate to take appropriate action under the law if these traders fail to produce their valid business licenses,” he said.

He said that commenting on the local community’s complaints on the increase of

unlicensed businesses here.

Previously, a budget hotel was prosecuted for operating without license for the past two years, before its operations was stopped until a valid license was issued by the Council.

In the same development, Puasa Md Taib said, the leniency during this period is given in consideration that the local traders need to continue their businesses.

“This leniency is however subjected to several key factors that need to be considered by the Council.

“This include locality issues, security aspects and business operations’ suitability based on existing policies and laws,” he said.

Earlier, he spoke to reporters after chairing the MPSepang Council Members’ Meeting No 03/2017 today.
