SHAH ALAM, FEB 24: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is urged to firmer relating to abandoned house issues in its jurisdiction.
Batu Tiga Assemblyman, Rodziah Ismail said houses that have been abandoned by its owners are feared to be the trigger of many issues such as cleanliness, health, social and other issues.
She said, these houses are also not a good sight to see besides directly affecting nearby residents.
“A holistic solution is needed otherwise the problems cannot be solved in fact it will create other problems.
“Perhaps MBSA can establish a new By-law, not merely doing cleaning job,” she said to SelangorKini.
Yesterday, she had ‘visited’ a house that has been abandoned for three years by its owners in Jalan Cili 1, Seksyen 24.
The entourage consisted of representatives from MBSA, Social Welfare Department, Selangor Zakat Board and the residents
It was made to understand that the house’s first owner has passed away while the new owner cannot be traced.
Meanwhile, MBSA representatives said based on existing provisions, they are only authorised to clean up the abandoned house’s area.
