KEPONG, JAN 7: Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV), which shut its operations for a revamp, will be officially reopened in February.
Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Agro-based Industry Exco Zaidy Abdul Talib said the reopening will boost economic growth and the state’s agro-tourism industry for 2017.
“When it is opened this February, SFV will have a processing area for kelulut honey that is being produced by young agricultural entrepreneurs trained under the Agrogems programme.
“Visitors can take the opportunity to taste the sweetness and uniqueness of the kelulut honey that is produced by local entrepreneurs,” he said.
SelangorKini was informed that SFV will be launched by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali at the end of this February.
SFV is known by locals as a fruit farm located in Rawang and is the largest centre for tropical fruits in Malaysia.
The 1,000 acre area had previously gained the attention of China in the area of economic cooperation in agriculture with Selangor.
It is the result of a proposal from the International Oversea Retrunees Promotion Association of Lianing China delegation that was given the opportunity to see for themselves the development of the state agriculture sector in SFV last August.
The SFV development is under the supervision of Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation.
