SHAH ALAM, DEC 6: The Smart Selangor Blueprint Action Plan will be implemented to ensure a more dominant Smart Selangor agenda come 2025.

Dato' Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said it was possible to achieve such a target with the development of the Smart State that began in 2015.

"This is an important starting point to realise the Smart Selangor concept which will become the main focus for the development of Selangor.

"Its effectiveness will enable Selangor to become the best SMart State in the ASEAN region in 2025," he said.

These were part of his statement read by Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Exco Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad in conjuction with the Selangor Smart City International Conference 2016 at The Saujana Hotel on December 6.

Mohamed Azmin said the Smart Selangor development initiative must be given focus, especially involving the effectiveness of its main components.

"It should be remembered that Smart Selangor does not focus solely on economic development and the effectiveness of smart solution infrastructure.

"It needs to be accompanied with social efforts that emphasise on spiritual and humanitarian values, good governance and should ensure social justice for all," he said.

The Smart State agenda was created by the State Government as an initiative to bring effective change to the socio-economic and techological development in the state.

Since its launch in 2015, the State Government has implemented various initiatives and action plans to realise Selangor as a Smart State in 2025.
