SHAH ALAM, DEC 6: The Selangor Smart City International Conference 2016 is capable of informing the public about the State Government’s efforts to develop Selangor into a Smart State.

Menteri Besar Incorporated CEO Raja Shahreen Raja Othman said the conference was held as part of the State Government’s commitment to realise the Smart State agenda.

“To become smart, it requires a journey that is understood by all so that the ideas and input regarding the Smart State concept can be translated to the public.

“This effort requires understanding and involves systematic planning from the State Government and comprehensive explanation to Selangor citizens.

“This is the State Government’s intention and commitment to continue implementing the Smart State agenda,” he said.

He said this at the opening of the conference at Hotel Saujana Kuala Lumpur.

Also present were Tourism, Environment, Technology and Consumer Affairs Exco Elizabeth Wong and Smart Selangor Delivery Unit Deputy Director Dr Fahmi Ngah.

The conference, attended by over 500 civil servants, private sector employees, as well as local and foreign industry players, follows the Smart Selangor Lab held last June.

The conference also focused on knowledge sharing through four sessions including Smart City Knowledge Exchange, Smart Solutions for Smarter Cities, Leveraging IOT: Smart Mobility & Education and Smart Entrepreneurs: Fireside Chat.

There were also sessions about Smart Startup & Solution Provider Showcase including Smart Mobility & Travel as well as Smart Retail & Services.
