BY: DATUK SERI DR WAN AIZAH WAN ISMAIL
Today saudara Rafizi Ramli has been sentenced to 36 months jail, that is 18 moths jail for every charge, in relation to the Official Secrets Act (OSA) for owning and revealing 98 pages of the Auditor-General’s Report, which is an OSA document.
It is generally understood that the contents of the document has information relating to the Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), and the entire Auditor-General’s Report is under the OSA.
This is a sad day for Malaysian democracy, when a democrat is brought to court for daring to fight for the rights and interests of the rakyat.

I once again urge Datuk Sri Najib Razak to be brave and allow the full Audit-r-General’s Report regarding 1MDB to be declassified as an Official Secret, especially when it was he himself who ordered the Auditor-General to classify the report under the OSA.
In other countries such as Singapore, the United States and Switzerland, investigations and legal action have been taken against several individuals related to the embezzlement of the rakyat’s money through 1MDB.
Without the Auditor-General’s full report, the Parliament cannot discuss nor figure out how this great amount of money was successfully embezzled by those parties.
Putrajaya’s reluctance to declassify the Auditor-General’s full report from the OSA only reinforces the perception it is a kleptocratic government does not want the truth to be known.
I am confident that the entire KEADILAN leadership and members stand strong to defend Rafizi in full solidarity.
I pray that Rafizi and his family be given the strength and patience to face this challenge. Free Rafizi!
