PETALING JAYA, NOV 7: Citizens welcomed the 2017 Budget presented by the State Government, as they consider it a citizen-friendly budget.

SelangorKini analysis reveals that it highlights the public’s current situation such as high cost of living, and their hopes that the State Government will be more proactive in helping the people overcome it.

Private sector employee, Fadzil Aslah, 40, said various programmes implemented by the State Government to raise living standards of the people and the economy wer good and should be continued with added improvements.

“With the current unstable economy, it is only fair to add more educational programmes and entrepreneurial guidance to open more opportunities to the people, especially the younger generation going into business.

 

“It will surely help citizens, especially the less fortunate who are currently burdened with expenses,” he said when met during the Pilot Project of Tour Selangor Smart Program and Selangor Budget on November 6.

Sabak Bernam businessman, Azhari Samian, 50, said the budget presented by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is confidence-inspiring in realising all the programmes planned for the benefit of all parties in Selangor.

“The State Government has proven that they are capable of looking after the people’s welfare through programmes planned to date. It is hoped that the State Government continues implementing all plans transparently,” he said.

Government officer Sujata Wee, 49, said the performance of the State Government is confidence-inspiring and is a contributing factor towards more remarkable progress.

“The State Government presented a citizen-friendly budget, and of course the people expect a mechanism can be implemented to help them to deal with problems from the current high cost of living,” she said.

“The 2017 Budget presented was clearly better at increasing yearly domestic economic performance. Citizens will certainly welcome all plans for mutual benefit,” said Wong Lai Wan, 56, from Petaling Jaya.
