MORIB, OCT 24: “Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) will be officially open in early 2017,” said Deputy Group General Manager (Operations) Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) Mohamad Fadzil Hitam.

He said the 1,000-acre SFV was still improving and aims to further develop agro-tourism industry in the area.

“Currently, we are still keen to focus restoring SFV. Although there is a slight delay, we are confident that SFV will have a major impact when it is completed,” he told SelangorKini recently.

Fadzil said that PKPS will discuss with Tourism Selangor on efforts to boost the SFV after it opens.

“We intend to attract more tourists to SFV with the best activities and programs, all of which are in the works,” he said.

At the same time, he said that more than 40 agricultural entrepreneurs participated in SFV by renting lots of at least 5 to 10 acres.

“We give them the opportunity to increase their income by renting land other than that arranged by PKPS. Agricultural entrepreneurs are to commercialise mostly fruits and cash crops,” he said.

SFV is locally known as a fruit garden located in Rawang, and is among the biggest fruit centres in Malaysia.
