KLANG, OCT 23:

Selangor’s 2017 Budget, due to be tabled by the state government this October 31, will take into consideration the rakyat’s needs through the just and fair distribution of the state’s wealth.

Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said that the state government will continue its fair policy to all races and focus more on education and health development.

“I would like to state that after seeing the Federal Budget announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, I dare say that the state government will table a much better budget.

“I also would like to inform that this budget will promise a bigger allocation for Tamil schools in Selangor.

“Not only Tamil schools stand to gain, but I will also announce several developments in education, specifically for the Indian community so that they are able to have access to quality education,” he said.

He said this at the 2016 Deepavali Cultural Night Carnival on October 23.

As with other races, he said, the state government wants the Indian community in Selangor to not be seen as a minority but as part of the mainstream development of the state.

“Besides education, Selangor’s 2017 Budget will focus on health, whereby low- and middle-income families that qualify under set conditions will receive free health services,” he said.
