KLANG, OCT 14: A total of 30 new compactors have been handed over to sub-contractors to enhance the solid waste collection service quality throughout Klang.
Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad Waste Management (KDEBWM) General Manager Ramli Tahir said this initiative is in line with KDEBWM’s commitment to bring about changes and improvements for a more effective and efficient service.
“KDEBWM provided the trucks to the sub-contractors to replace their old and worn-out trucks.

“KDEBWM will certainly help to solve typical issues faced by sub-contractors such as damaged trucks or leachate water spills,” he said after the Handover Ceremony.
Also present were Local Government, New Village Development and Illegal Factory Legalisation Exco Ean Yong Hian Wah and Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Yang Dipertua Dato’ Mohamad Yasid Bidin.
Ramli said that all the compactor trucks are equipped with sophisticated and latest technology.
Amongst them are the Automatic Vehicle Localisation System (AVLS) for vehicle tracking, reversing camera and CCTV which is controlled and monitored centrally from the Centralized Command Center (CCC) at its headquarters in Plaza Perangsang.

He said that all the sophisticated sand latest system installed in the trucks are in line with the aspiration and initiatives towards ‘Smart Selangor’.
“This concept emphasizes on technological advancement in services provided to the public which includes collection of solid waste,” he said.
A total of RM23 million was allocated for 60 new compactor trucks.
Eight trucks were handed over earlier and 22 will be given next week.
