SHAH ALAM, OCT 6: The Malaysian Government has been urged to intervene for the release of Zaytouna-Oliva ‘Women’s Boat to Gaza’ (WBG) activist group who was detained near Gaza waters.

Malaysia’s sole representative on the boat, Dr Fauziah Mohd Hasan said that international pressure is needed to protest against the illegitimate actions by the Israeli’s regime.

“I beg all world leaders, citizens and the Malaysian Government including all peace-loving people to please save us.

“Thank you for all your support and prayers,” said the grandmother of six in a video uploaded by Freedom Flotilla Coalition.

On September 14, Zaytouna-Olivia left Ville port in Barcelona carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.

However, the mission involving 13 activists, including three crew members, were captured on Wednesday, at about 8.58 pm.

Besides Fauziah, the humanitarian convoy also included women activists from Tunisia, Israel, Algeria, Canada, Turkey, the United States, Sweden, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.

Meanwhile, Israeli army said in a statement that the regime’s security forces ‘changed the course’ of the convoy to prevent them from violating a ‘maritime blockade' imposed on Gaza.

WBG flotilla is a part of the larger Freedom Flotilla Coalition, with the mission to protest Jewish sanctions on Gaza.

Up till now, several of the group’s attempts to pass the sanction haven been deadlocked, with some of its members detained by Israelis.

In 2010, Israeli forces attacked Mavi Marmara humanitarian convoy at position 70 nautical miles, killing ten Turkish nationals.
