SHAH ALAM, OCT 6: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has been asked to give a full explanation regarding their internal system, which was claimed to have been hacked recently.

KEADILAN Communications Director Fahmi Fadzil said the public has the right to know how much information in the system has been compromised or stolen by irresponsible parties.

“I am disappointed that DBKL did not inform or make any media statement regarding this issue, especially when it contains many business and businessmen’s information

“I was told by a few DBKL employees that the system was down for a week after being hacked, and the public could not make any payment, get their licenses or perform other tasks,” he said in a statement.

Hence, Fahmi said DBKL must give a full explanation on this issue immediately.

He said, if it was indeed true that the system was hacked, the Mayor must also inform the public of preventive measures that will taken to prevent the same incident from recurring.

“This includes naming and replacing the officer in charge of security for the DBKL computer system,” he said.
