SEPANG, SEP 19: The Bagan Lalang Beach Water Festival is an annual event that can potentially attract more domestic and international tourists to Sepang district.

This was evident from the encouraging number of visitors who attended the festival which was organised by Sepang Municipal Council (MPSp) for two days.

A student from Kelantan, Amin Nomli, 20, said that his visit was not in vain as his weekend getaway was packed with fun-filled activities and events throughout the festival.

“The festival was lively and entertaining with a variety of events.  At least, it can relieve stress during the weekend.

“The only thing is that hopefully people can be more disciplined in maintaining cleanliness at the beach. Organisers must provide sufficient rubbish bins,” he said to SelangorKini.

For Fatin Syahirah, 20, she was just excited to see various water activities that she seldom gets to see.

“My relatives and I were certainly excited to watch various events during the festival. We hope this kind of event can be organised again in the future,” she said.

Meanwhile, a trader from Kajang, Muhammad Hassan Mustapha, 43, suggested that facilities be improvised or enhanced for the comfort of visitors.

“Add more seats, beautify the place and vary the activities to not bore visitors who come to this area,” he said.

The Bagan Lalang Beach Water Festival was livened up by over 10,000 estimated visitors throughout the two days.

Activities held were beach football, beach handball, international silat festival, building sand castles, catching ducks, beat the pillow, slippery-pole climbing and wau competitions.

Besides that, there were also a traditional archery competition, a colouring contest as well as virtual and ‘lure model’ photography.

In addition to various events which offered cash prizes, the festival also provided many food and souvenir stalls for visitors.
