SHAH ALAM, SEP 13: International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) is capable of playing its role as a premier Islamic institution of higher learning in the region, said Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
He said that the success of the religious programme carried out by the university strengthens its role as a leading university not only at a national level, but also internationally.
“Cooperation from all parties and support from the State Government contributes to the success of UIAM and will spur all of us to make this goal a reality,” he said.
He was speaking at the #QuranHour programme media conference with IAM Rector, Professor Datuk Seri Dr Zaleha Kamaruddin recently.
UIAM was founded through the World Conference on Muslim Education resolution that focused on Islamic education in accordance with current academic situation.

Until today, UIAM has continued to produce competitive and highly skilled graduates at various levels including pre-university, diploma, Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate levels.
UIAM has continued to grow with its main campus in Gombak and currently has two branch campus in Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur and two centres for foundation studies in Petaling Jaya and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
