MOZAMBIQUE, SEP 6: Mozambique authorities have shown three pieces of aircraft debris found washed up along the beach believed to be from flight MH370.

International news agency, AFP, reported that the triangular shaped piece was coloured red and white on one side and metallic on the other.

A South African hotel owner had found the debris along the beach on southern Mozambique, in Inhambane province.

Mozambique Aviation Authority Director Joao de Abreu said that was the first time that they found coloured aircraft debris.

He added that the parts could have been the aileron (a hinged surface in the trailing edge of an airplane wing, used to control lateral balance), wing or lift of the aircraft.

There was a label on the inside which made it easier to identify the aircraft owner, he said.

Two other small pieces which were handed to the authorities, were found by a child of an European Union diplomat nearby the southern part of Xai-Xai Resort.

The items will be brought to Malaysia for inspection.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 went missing on March 2014 with 239 passengers and crew in the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
