KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today expressed his sadness over the Gunung Jerai mudflow in Yan, Kedah, which had so far claimed four lives.

ALOR SETAR, Aug 20 — The Kedah State Health Department has identified and is managing 33 Category One and Two Covid-19 positive flood victims in Yan district.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 — The water surge incident in Yan yesterday was mainly due to the extreme and high intensity of rainfall over the mountain stream and the peak area of Gunung Jerai, according to Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah.

ALOR SETAR, Aug 19 — The search and rescue operation (SAR) for four victims still missing after a water surge incident in Yan, about 40 kilometres from here, continued today at 8.30am.
