IPOH, Jan 15 — A married couple arrested on suspicion of misappropriating RM9.62 million in zakat (tithe) collections under the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) has been released on bond today.
IPOH, Oct 9 — The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah today received business tithes or zakat payments amounting to RM16.86 million from 11 corporate firms on behalf of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) at Istana Changkat Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur.
IPOH, Sept 15 — The Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council allocates up to RM2 million a year through the ‘Pemerkasaan Ekonomi Asnaf (Proper A)’, an asnaf (those eligible to receive zakat) economic empowerment programme, to help them break away from the shackles of poverty by venturing into entrepreneurship.
IPOH, Jan 27 — The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah has consented to Friday prayers, as well as general mass prayers and funeral prayers to be held in all mosques and surau in the state with a maximum of 40 congregants starting tomorrow and throughout the movement control order (MCO) period.
IPOH, Nov 17 — Mosques and surau in the green and yellow zones in Perak are allowed to hold Friday and fard (obligatory) prayers starting today based on the actual capacity of the prayer halls and taking into account the physical distancing between the worshippers.
