PUCHONG, Dec 6 — A total of 279 new council members for the local authorities (PBT) will be appointed on January 1 next year.
State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the appointments will involve 122 individuals from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), DAP (97) and Parti Amanah Negara (60).
“The period of service is until December 31, 2022, and I hope all will go well,” Ng said after distributing 2021 calendars to the public at the Puchong Jaya morning market yesterday.
Ng said he was satisfied with the performance of the PBT council members during the previous term and added that most will continue their services next year.
