SHAH ALAM, March 19 — Several Selangor state assemblymen have cancelled public programmes in their respective constituencies following the implementation of the two-week movement control order.

Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Suee Lim said most of the programmes involving his constituency would be cancelled or postponed, depending on the Covid-19 situation in the state.

"The Sekinchan Community Service Centre (PKM) is also closed but the councillors, my officers and I continue to work from home. The people can still meet with us if it involved pressing issues. For other matters, they can wait until after the movement control order period ends," he told Selangorkini when contacted today.

Meanwhile, Bandar Utama assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin echoed similar sentiment but she had assured that the people from her constituency could still address concerns via her official Facebook account.

"We had also attached notices related to the restriction order at our PKM and we hope the people would take appropriate measures throughout the restricted period," she said.

Meanwhile, Seri Setia assemblyman Halimey Abu had apologised for not being able to distribute face masks and hand sanitizers to the people as he has to set an example by adhering to the restriction order.
