SHAH ALAM, March 3 — Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility through its Ikhlas Kasih Ramadan programme, providing essential aid to underprivileged groups to help them prepare for Ramadan and Hari Raya.
This year, the initiative benefited 330 families across Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, the poor, and those facing health challenges.
"The aid included daily essentials such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, biscuits, and other food packs, accompanied by cash assistance to help ease household burdens," the state subsidiary said in a statement today.
KSSB said this year's Ikhlas Kasih Ramadan programme was carried out in several villages across two districts in Selangor, located near the company's operations.
They include Kampung Harmoni, Kampung Ijok, Kampung Jaya Setia, Kampung Bukit Badong, Kampung Rantau Panjang, Kampung Bestari Jaya, Kampung Asahan, and Pekan Bestari Jaya in Kuala Selangor, as well as Kampung Olak Lempit and Kampung Bukit Changgang in Kuala Langat.
The programme also crossed state borders, extending to Rembau in Negeri Sembilan, covering Kampung Batang Nyamor, Kampung Mungkal, Kampung Jeram, Kampung Seberang Paya, and Kampung Tanjong, all located near KSSB’s mineral water bottling plant.
KSSB chief executive officer Nizran Noordin said the programme was born out of the company's deep awareness of its shared responsibility in building the community.
"As long as there are those in need, we will be there. This is not just any ordinary programme; it is our service to the community," he said.
KSSB said the initiative also received support and recognition from the Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, who welcomed the corporate effort in focusing on welfare and community well-being.
"Through a holistic and empathetic approach, KSSB has demonstrated a deep social commitment that goes beyond corporate responsibility, touching on a more profound humanitarian dimension."
