With iPMS, MPSepang procurements now fully online

SHAH ALAM, March 5 — The Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) has had its procurement dealings fully online since February 1 with the Smart Procurement Management System (iPMS), to strengthen governance and improve service delivery transparency.

MPSepang president Ani Ahmad said iPMS is where the council’s contractors and suppliers are registered, making it a central data management system.

“All procurement matters are digitally recorded and can be tracked and monitored, which lowers risks of misunderstanding, negligence and baseless accusations.

“It reflects an organisational commitment to strengthening good governance and fostering the principles of fairness and accountability,” she said.

Ani added that iPMS, which was launched on January 28, facilitates the quicker, more efficient submission of quotations and tenders from contractors and suppliers.

Besides that, contractor and supplier appointments can be viewed online in 24 hours after procurement meetings are held, and iPMS facilitates audits and improves the transparency of the council’s procurements.

“All of MPSepang procurements, whether quotations or tenders, are now fully on iPMS from February 1,” she said.

Ani also urged all contractors, suppliers and consultants to use this system for procurement matters, and to register on the system.

Up to February 13, there were 14 work listings on the iPMS, involving road paving works, drain repairs, toner supply, playground equipment repairs, and furniture supply.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government would comprehensively transform Selangor local authorities this year to improve public service delivery efficiency and ease matters for the people.
