KLANG, March 2 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah today officiated Masjid Nurul Iman in Telok Gadong here during His Highness’ Ihya’ Ramadan programme today.
The Raja Muda presented Aidilfitri aid of RM278,000 to 556 recipients, including 188 asnaf fakir, 203 poor asnaf, and 165 reverts. Each received RM500.
Tengku Amir Shah also received mock cheques of corporate wakaf from Teraju Ekonomi Asnaf Sdn Bhd (TERAS) worth RM100,000 and the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) worth RM50,000.
After breaking fast, His Highness performed Maghrib, Isyak and tarawih prayers with local congregants.

The Raja Muda was accompanied by State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin, state executive councillor for Islam and innovation Dr Fahmi Ngah, Selangor Mufti Dato’ Anhar Opir, Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) chairman Dato’ Salehuddin Saidin, and Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) director Dato’ Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad.
Masjid Nurul Iman was built on a 0.6ha site to the tune of RM12.4 million in state government allocations.
Its construction started in 2016 before its January 2019 opening. It has a modern design, vast main prayer hall, wudhu facilities, funeral management room, and congregant-friendly amenities, including for senior citizens and disabled folk.
The mosque can house up to 1,500 congregants and functions as a house of worship and community religious activity centre.
It is also equipped with 65 solar panels, each with a capacity of 540W. The green energy initiative has brought its monthly electricity bill down to about RM2,500 compared with around RM4,500 before.
