SHAH ALAM, Feb 28 — Sixty participants joined the first Language Discovery sessions by the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) on February 20, which raised the curtain on this year’s free language learning initiative.
According to a PPAS statement, Mandarin and French classes are held as early as 7.30am with a flexible schedule to allow working people to join the lessons before their daily tasks.
“The first Language Discovery 2026 class session was done with encouraging reception,” the statement read.
The programme is implemented with the support and sponsorship of the state government to expand the people’s access to language education.
PPAS expressed gratitude to Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari for suggesting and approving the free language lessons.
“Thank you to all participants, tutors and parties that made this programme a success,” it added.
Language Discovery is among efforts to empower language mastery among the people and increase Selangoreans’ competitiveness and marketability.
