KUALA LANGAT, Feb 28 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had sahur and performed Subuh prayers with Tanjong Sepat residents at Inayatur Rahman Mosque in Kampung Batu Laut here earlier today.
Having arrived at 5am, Amirudin was accompanied by Tanjong Sepat assemblyman and state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah, and was treated to “kampung” delicacies before joining congregational Subuh prayers and listening to a talk by SMK Jugra principal Mohd Naudi Haqqi Ahmad.

Amirudin then presented Ihya’ Ramadan contributions worth RM28,500 to 45 mosques and surau in the Tanjong Sepat state constituency. Ten mosques and two Friday surau received RM1,000 each, while 33 surau received RM500 each.
These contributions, which went to Islamic houses of worship in 11 villages including Hulu Teris, Bukit Bangkong, Tumbuk Darat and Sungai Kelambu, are meant to support religious and welfare programmes throughout Ramadan.

Amirudin said the state administration wants mosques and surau to act as development and unity centres, in line with Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s decree that religious institutions be a neutral space for all quarters.
“Everyone can sit (together) and make these institutions centres for solutions, considerations and change for the people,” Amirudin said in his speech at the event.
